We started the day by visiting Kampung Budaya Sindang Barang, a tourist destination and accommodation area in Bogor, West Java, which preserves the traditional lifestyle of the Sundanese tribe. Built by local battle survivors, it is believed to have been around since the 12th century.
Since 2004, their long-forgotten customs have been slowly brought back to life.

There, we were introduced to a variety of traditional cooking types of equipment, and learned the village’s history, Jaipong dance, Pencak Silat, cassava leaf puppet-making, traditional Indonesian games, and also angklung performances.
PT Amerta Indah Otsuka
(2ND Destination)
Next, we continued to Pt. Amerta Indah Otsuka in Sukabumi, the manufacturer of some products: SOYJOY, Fiber Mini, Oronamin C, Ion water, and Pocari Sweat. The factory was big, complete, and green. First, we learned about the factory’s Blue Earth program, which aims to have all products produced entirely of recyclable and recycled materials by 2030.
We also got insights into how Mr. Otsuka, the founder, firstly presented company philosophy.
After the factory explanation, we were escorted to explore the process of making Pocari Sweat, one of their famous products. We gained knowledge that Pocari Sweat was created firstly through significant research Without any preservatives, Pocari is produced by using a drop of nitrogen before capping it to keep it fresh. The production of Pocari involves the following steps :
- resin shaping
- blow modeling, filling, and capping
- bottle Pressure Detector
- labeling & Best Before
- auto case
- quality control
The best part was we got for free some bottles of Pocari Sweat and Oronamin C as well as a customized pin with our name.
Feeling great and excited, we finished the field trip joyfully. We got back to school and enjoyed our trip full of togetherness and happiness. Thank you to all teachers and fellow students. We learned a lot during the field trip and hope it extends our experiences and insights. See you on the next event.
